半田駅からほど近い焼き菓子店の計画。

主な用途はイベント出店に向けた厨房であるが、軒先販売を想定して、厨房の一部を販売スペースと兼用している。厨房は、焼き菓子製造の工程から厨房機器の配置を検討した結果、内部が厨房機器で埋め尽くされることになった。製造拠点としての効率的な空間と、新しい造形を生み出すための「造形準備室」としての冗長的な空間をコンパクトな厨房内に共存させるために、衛生面を考慮した外部との境界は設けつつ、外部と積極的につながることを考えた。北側の交通量の少ない前面道路、南側の敷地内駐車場、敷地周辺の豊かな植栽を冗長性を担保するポジティブな要素と捉え、内部に引き込むために、開口部・吊り戸棚・垂れ壁の高さを揃えて南北の空間の連続性を高め、さらに、照明などを排除したフラットな天井で光の変化も合わせて取り込むことを考えた。

通りすがりの方がチラッと中を見て「お店？ここなんだろう？」と不思議そうに会話されているのを聞き、この空間への期待が高まった。



A project for a baked goods shop located near Handa Station.

While the primary function is as a kitchen for event booths, part of the kitchen space is also used as a sales area to accommodate street-side sales. After considering the layout of kitchen equipment based on the baking process, the interior ended up being completely filled with equipment. To accommodate both an efficient production space and a flexible “preparation room” for creating new designs within the compact kitchen, we designed the space to actively connect with the outside while maintaining hygienic boundaries. We viewed the low-traffic road to the north, the on-site parking lot to the south, and the lush greenery surrounding the property as positive elements that ensure flexibility. To draw these elements into the interior, we aligned the heights of the openings, hanging cabinets, and drop ceilings to enhance the continuity between the north and south spaces. Furthermore, we designed a flat ceiling—free of fixtures like lighting—to capture the changing light.

I overheard passersby glancing inside and saying, “Is that a store? What is this place?” with a look of curiosity, which heightened my anticipation for this space.
